Melinda Cross earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Society from the University of California Santa Barbara and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University Northridge. She began her career with Ventura County Probation Agency as a student worker in 1990. In 1993, she was promoted to Corrections Services Officer and later to Deputy Probation Officer. She continued to climb through the ranks to her current position as Division Manager. Her assignments have included Youth Services, Colston Youth Center, East County Misdemeanor Probation Services, West County Felony Services, Juvenile Restitution Project, East County Field Services, Clifton Tatum Center, Juvenile Facilities-Special Functions, East County Juvenile Services, Intake/Community Confinement, Oxnard Field Services and Juvenile Facilities- Operations.
Ms. Cross is an accomplished STC trainer who has taught for the Agency as well as for the tri-counties DPO CORE and the Career Enhancement Academy. She was also responsible for starting the Agency’s annual team building event called The BIG Race.
