Staff Training

The Staff Training Unit (STU) coordinates all outside and in-house training programs for agency employees to assure the agency complies with state standards and guidelines. It coordinates and conducts mandated training for all sworn and non-sworn staff to ensure a highly trained workforce. The goal is to develop and retain professional, well-trained staff in all classifications. The Agency participates in the Board of State and Community Corrections Standards and Training Corrections (STC) Program. This requires the agency to meet the minimum training standards and follow program regulations. STU utilizes a variety of Agency staff and contracted facilitators to develop and conduct trainings. STU is also responsible for continuous quality improvement through assessment and evaluation of agency operations, program effectiveness, and service delivery.
